Changbangdu Connected Block Apartment

Rooted in Bhutanese tradition, where communities thrive on close social connections and strong communal bonds, this project reimagines modern residential living through architecture that brings people together.

In contrast to conventional rental buildings that prioritize maximum space utilization and return on investment at the expense of human interaction, the design introduces shared social spaces along staircases and corridors to encourage daily connection among residents.

Thoughtfully shaped by the site’s natural topography, the building mass is carefully divided to create a more human-scaled and responsive environment. Rooms are strategically oriented to maximize natural sunlight, creating warm, healthy, and uplifting living spaces that strengthen both comfort and community
